Times have changed since grandfather was a boy, and certainly not for the worse in regard to spending-money for farm boys. Fifty years ago it was the custom for the farm boy to work at home without wages until he became of age. Then his father gave him a horse, an implement or two, and a paternal blessing; and with this capital the son started out to make his way in the world.
