Assemblyman Katz challenges senator
Official announcement came Monday in Carmel
Assemblyman Steve Katz made it official Monday: He’s running for state Senate, and he intends to kick out incumbent Sen. Greg Ball.
Katz, a freshman lawmaker representing constituents in sections of Putnam, Westchester and Dutchess counties, will primary Ball for the seat. Both are regarded as conservative Republicans; both ran with Tea Party support in 2010.
