Gerald ‘Jerry’ G. Locascio

Gerald “Jerry” G. Locascio 76, of Kent, NY, passed away on February 26, 2013. Mr. Locascio was born on November 21, 1936, to Frank and Nettie (Spiegel) Locascio in Brooklyn. On May 18, 1958, he married his sweetheart, Catherine Stewart in Brooklyn.

Before he retired in 1995, Jerry worked as a draftsman for the Sheet Metal Union Local #28, in New York City. Jerry lived life to its fullest; he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed sailing, hunting and fishing and he made many fishing trips to Belize. For the past 50 years, he enjoyed vacationing with his family in Block Island. He was an active board member at Seven Hills Lake for the past 40 years and was a member of the Kent Rod & Gun Club. In addition, Jerry was a member of the Cortlandt Yacht Club for 25 years which he had the opportunity to sail along the Hudson River.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Catherine; his two loving sons, Frank (Kim) and Jerry (Tracy); his sister Barbara Catuosco; and four adoring grandchildren, Shawna, Frank (Marie), Kevin and Chelsey. He is predeceased by his beloved son; James.

A visitation was held on Friday, March 1, at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512 (845)225-3672. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. James the Apostle R.C. Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512.

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Kent Cliffs, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to: St. Jude Tribute Program, POB 1000 - Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
